SEBIR / Shabbat
Shabbat in Poland - for groups, private stays and hotels
From Friday evening to Saturday night everything has to be ready in advance. We prepare the meals, the place for prayer and the venue itself, so that Shabbat feels like Shabbat - even far from home.
First reply usually within 24 hours.
Before Shabbat
What we prepare
- Meals: Friday dinner, Shabbat lunch and seudah shlishit - cooked before Shabbat and kept warm on Shabbat platas, with hot water from urns, without breaking its rules.
- Prayer: a room or a tent set up as a temporary synagogue, with a mechitza if the group needs one.
- The venue: a Shabbat lift, room access without electronic keys, lights and appliances set before Shabbat begins.
- Eruv: setup and arrangements are coordinated by Sebastian, always under the supervision of the group's rabbi or our rabbi.
- Havdalah: everything ready for the end of Shabbat.

The table
This is how we set the Shabbat table - in Poland and across Europe
White tablecloths, candles, challot, salads, dips and wine for kiddush. Colors and details are chosen to suit the venue and what the group wants. We set the table in the hotel, retreat center or hall where your group stays, also outside Poland: from Portugal to the Caucasus.

Three situations
For a group, a family or a hotel
A group
A shared Shabbat for the whole group: a hall for meals, prayer and the rhythm of the day.
A private stay
What you need for Shabbat, prepared for one, two or a family; a stay near a community if you are looking for a minyan. Private stays →
A hotel
We prepare your building and brief your staff. For hotels →

Questions about Shabbat
Do we have to be observant to arrange a Shabbat with you?
No. We match the scope to the group - from full mehadrin to a more basic level. What matters is that we know your expectations in advance.
What about food, since cooking is not allowed on Shabbat?
We prepare meals before Shabbat and keep them warm on Shabbat platas, with hot water from urns - without cooking during Shabbat itself.
Do you provide a minyan?
If the group forms a minyan itself, we prepare the prayer space. If not, we help reach a local community where possible - but we cannot guarantee it. For synagogues and prayer times, the local Jewish communities are the best source.
Can Shabbat be held in a hotel or a retreat center?
Yes. We set up a prayer space (a room or a tent), a mechitza and the facilities, and the stay is planned so that nobody needs to travel on Shabbat.
Do you also provide kosher food for the rest of the trip?
Yes - we run kosher catering throughout the stay. Kosher food → Kosher places in Krakow →
